A Romantic Palm Beach Country Club Wedding

GUYS, although I may live in NJ, I love Florida weddings!! And the wedding of Karin and AJ this past November was no exception. The love between them and all of the support and excitement radiating from their guests was undeniable!! Breakers West Country Club was the most incredible backdrop for their bridal party and couple photos- take a peek! And don’t get me started with the reception... so much romance and dancing and goodness gracious i’m so pumped to share this wedding with you. ENJOY!

Q: Tell us about your wedding! What was the inspiration behind your day? Did you have a specific theme, style or color palette? Did you incorporate any cultural or religious traditions in any part of your day?
A: We centered our wedding around the color palette of dusty blue, blush pink, and greenery. We definitely had a Christian wedding, as our home church Pastor officiated the wedding in an outdoor ceremony at the Country Club.

Q: Let's talk wedding decor. How did you decorate your space for the ceremony and the reception? Was any part of the decor DIY?
A: Our florist did a wonderful job with the florals. We had a mix of DIY and the florist putting their expertise into the decor. I purchased lanterns which were used as the main focus of our centerpiece with florals inside and out, along with a floating candle in a cylinder vase inside. To add to the DIY, we had bought signs to have around the venue for the gifts, photo book, etc. We also had photos in frames of our grandparents' and parents’ wedding photos.

Q: What were the florals like in your wedding? Did you use flowers in any of your design elements like the bridal bouquets, centerpieces or ceremony backdrop? Did they play an important part in the overall style of your wedding?
A: We had dusty blue hydrangeas, blush pink roses, baby's breath and greenery in all of our bouquets and centerpieces. They definitely played an important part in decorating the venue.

Q: Did you personalize the day in any way (food trucks, guest entertainment etc.)? What were some of your favorite parts of your wedding?
A: Our DJ was phenomenal. We asked one thing of him and that was to have everyone dancing all night, and he did just that. From the very first song (September) until our last dance, nobody left the dance floor.

Q: Let's talk fashion. How did you both choose your wedding day look? Describe the looks in detail.
A: I absolutely love tulle, so my dress was A-Line fit with lace on the top and a soft tulle on the bottom. It was so light weight and perfect for dancing. My dress was from BHLDN. My bridesmaids also got their dresses from BHLDN with an A-Line type style with a soft tulle skirt in a slate gray/blue color. My husband wore the Vera Wang Black tuxedo and his groomsmen were in charcoal gray tuxes.

Q: How did you meet? Tell us about the proposal.
A: AJ and I met in English class freshman year in college. We were friends first and started dating about 6 months after we met. We've been together for about 5 years prior to the wedding. We absolutely love lighthouses and have a goal to see every lighthouse in Florida. Our proposal took place on top of the Jupiter Lighthouse, the first lighthouse we went to together. He rented out the entire property just for us and asked at the top!

Q: What was the most anticipated or special moment of your wedding day?
A: We had a last dance, just the two of us at the end of the night while everyone gathered outside the venue for a sparkler send off. It was so special to end the night, just the two of us to take in the night together. Our wedding coordinators at the venue hall really valued time for us to be together just the two of us throughout the day.

Q: Do you have any wedding planning or marriage advice that you'd like to share with other couples planning their day?
A: Plan early, it takes so much of the stress off of you. And remember that all the small details that all the brides worry about (myself included) won't matter at the end of the day. All that matters is that you are marrying your person, and that's what all your guests are there for that day.
